EC Granger 7' 3-wt
Thanks Aaron so much for recommending the EC Granger 7' 3-wt rod. It is very fun to fish with. I teamed it with an Okuma SLV23 as you suggested along with some DT3F line. In the six weeks I've had it, I've caught over 100 bass (up to 2 1/2 lbs) and bluegill in local farm ponds and close to 100 Missouri trout (up to 5 lbs). The rod action is very nice but found that it loads easier with a 4-wt line. The rod finish is decent - A few very minor bubbles here and there and a little dab of epoxy in a few of the single-foot guides. The balance point of the rod with the Okuma reel is under my ring finger. So lighter the better for the reel with this rod. My only negative comment about the rod is that the cork handle was not centered on the blank. For the money, though, it's near perfect. My son wanted one so I ordered one for him and a back-up one for me. The handles on these other two are centered nicely. I did notice though that the quality of cork varies between the 3. One has a lot of filler. I measured all three rods (7’ 3-wt) using Dr. Bill’s CCS System and found that they are really light 4-wt moderate/fast action rods. The measured ERNs were 4.16/4.31/4.46 and action angle of 60 degrees. The EC Granger 7’ 3-wt - Overall a nice value for a great rod that puts FUN into flyrodding! Get one before they're gone. You won’t be disappointed!

Granger 9' 5 Wt.
This is a good rod for the money. I own a Redington, a St. Croix and a custom made fly rod. I use the Eagle Claw more than my other rods. It casts well and makes even a duffer like me form tight loops. I especially like it for lake fishing with a sinking line. I use it when tossing chronomid patterns and its' sensitivity really helps detect bites.

Granger 8ft rod, 2 piece, line #5
Took it out for the first time yesterday -- excellent! Getting my skills back after a 25 year haitus and bought this to supplement my old Orvis 8 1/2' 6wt. w/ Battenkill reel -- which cost a heck of a lot more than this even in 1980's dollars. This rod is a smooth caster with a lot of power to spare. I paired it with an Okuma Sierra reel and some AquaNova WF5F line and got a well-balanced rig that lets me put the fly where I want effortlessly. This would be a great setup for a beginner: a modest investment gets you a rig that will lend confidence as your skills develop and has the quality to make it a "keeper" for a long time to come.
